The Omega Speedmaster First Omega in Space pays tribute to the legendary CK 2998, the first Omega watch worn in space during the 1962 Sigma 7 mission. This contemporary interpretation preserves the pioneering character of the historic design through a 39.7 mm stainless steel case with polished and brushed finishes, a blue-grey CVD-treated dial inspired by selected CK 2998 models from the 1960s, and a black aluminium bezel featuring the iconic tachymeter scale and “Dot Over Ninety”.
A brown leather strap enhances the vintage-inspired character, while Alpha-style hands and indexes filled with vintage Super-LumiNova complement the three chronograph sub-dials. Inside, the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861 manual-winding movement provides a 50-hour power reserve. The sapphire crystal shaped like hesalite, 5 bar water resistance and caseback featuring the historic seahorse medallion complete this distinctive expression of Swiss watchmaking heritage.
