The watchmaking history of Hermès began in 1912, when Émile Hermès adapted a pocket watch for his daughter by adding two leather straps. This encounter between time and leather craftsmanship marked the starting point of a unique heritage: watches that do not simply measure time, but become intimate objects carrying emotion.
With emblematic creations such as Arceau, Cape Cod and Heure H, the maison affirms its identity and free spirit. It strengthens its expertise by integrating the design of its own movements, thanks to its participation in Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. These movements are crafted with rigor and precision in the Swiss workshops where around one hundred artisans perpetuate the watchmaking art of the maison.

The Arceau Le Temps Suspendu, awarded the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2011, invites one to stop the race of time, to open parentheses, by erasing the display of hours and minutes on the dial. The Arceau Le Temps Voyageur, winner of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2022, offers an intuitive reading of time zones thanks to a mobile disc, designed to accompany travellers with precision.
