In 2005, Omega launched the Planet Ocean line, within the Seamaster collection, a tribute to immersion watches.

This model, with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, sports a black ceramic dial, with Arabic numerals and date at 3 o'clock. The unidirectional bezel also in black ceramic, with immersion scale in OMEGA Liquidmetal in orange, like that of the interior numbers, is mounted in a box of 43.5 mm and stainless steel.

OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer is watertight up to 600 m and has a helium escape valve. It incorporates the OMEGA Master Chronometer 8900 caliber, visible through the transparent bottom. To achieve the Master Chronometer category, it has passed the 8 rigorous tests established by the METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology).
